Welcome to Cactus Lodge. A spacious 5 bedroom, fully-equipped, SELF-CATERING
ACCOMMODATION IN BETTY’S BAY. Nestled between the Kogelberg Mountain and the
Atlantic Ocean, the lodge lies between two fresh water lakes which are part
of the Grootwitvlei Bird Sanctuary. This is a bird lover’s paradise with
weavers and sunbirds making a colourful display.
Only an hour’s drive from Cape Town, Betty’s Bay is a picturesque seaside
village situated along the scenic Clarence Drive Route between Pringle Bay
and Kleinmond.
The town falls within the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, the smallest but
richest in variety of the six floral kingdoms in the world. At the HAROLD
PORTER BOTANICAL GARDENS IN BETTY’S BAY, one can view some of 7700 plant
species found in FYNBOS. This includes restios, ericas and proteas. Cactus
Lodge was aptly named after the huge variety of succulents which flourish in
the area.
BETTY’s BAY is home to a colony of Jackass PENGUINS which reside at Stony
Point. Here visitors can watch these fascinating birds in their natural
environment. One of the great attractions of BETTY’S BAY is the beautiful,
unspoilt BEACHES. Silversands and Hangklip dunes lie to the west of Stony
Point offering a beach of over 4km and great kite surfing opportunities. The
beach is also good for picnics, swimming and surfing. Main Beach in BETTY’S
BAY is a popular SURFING destination. However, Jock’s Bay and Shelley Beach
offer better paddling and shell collecting for kids.
Sporting and leisure activities in and around BETTY’S BAY, include: KYAKING,
MOUNTAIN TRAILS AND HIKES, SANDBOARDING, HORSE RIDING, FISHING, SNORKELLING
and SCUBA DIVING, WHALE WATCHING, GOLF and a BEAUTY and HEALTH SPA at the
ARABELLA.
There are also various PUBS, COFFEE SHOPS, RESTAURANTS and PIZZERIAS in
BETTY’s BAY and in the vicinity.
At Cactus Lodge, you have an ideally situated, comfortable and welcoming
base from which to explore and enjoy all that Betty’s Bay has to offer.
